Tuesday: Practice night, 7:30 pm - 9 pm.
Sunday: Ringing for church service, 9:15 am - 10 am.
We would welcome you joining us on a Tuesday or Sunday. Please contact us first to check whether we are ringing! We also welcome groups of visiting ringers, including peal and quarter peal attempts - please get in touch for more information.
We are fortunate enough to have a ringing simulator installed, so all ten of our bells can be rung "silently" if required. To achieve this, the clappers are clamped and sensors on the bell wheel and frame inform the computer inside the ringing room when to make a simulated bell sound on the computer speakers. We also have a Wombel training device installed in the ringing room, which is also linked to the computer. The church has a kitchen and disabled toilet, but these are only accessible when the church is open, and not necessarily at all times when we are ringing.

Commemorative ringing is undertaken with the bells half-muffled. Remembrance Sunday and funerals are occasions when we ring with the bells half-muffled.
Leather pads are tied to each clapper but only on one side. As the bells swing in one direction, the side of the clapper without the pad will strike the bell normally, as the bells swing back, the side of the clapper with the pad will strike producing a quieter muffled sound. It produces a lovely quiet echo reserved for sad or solemn occasions.
Fully muffled ringing is not usually carried out. It might be if the death of a sovereign was announced.
